Boardsmill started this game strong with excellent team play working the ball up the field at pace and making clinical decisions in front of goal. Na Fianna replied in the second quarter and led at HT 1-04 to 1-05. The heat and tired legs made the second half a struggle and despite a huge effort by all Boardsmill players, Na Fianna finished the second half strong and scored 1-2 in the final 10 minutes to win the game.
