Boardsmill GAA’s Walkathon 2022

Boardsmill GAA is a small rural Club. We have Teams proudly representing us at adult level and in every age grade in all aspects of GAA – Football, Hurling, Ladies Football & Camogie. For a small Club we are punching well above our weight!! We are constantly looking to improve our facilities to ensure they are safe and up to standard for all our Members. You may have noticed we recently widened the roadway to Patsy’s Field and installed a new safety fence along the roadside of our main pitch.

With that in mind we are running a 24 Hour Walkathon and we’d really appreciate your help!!

Our Leaders have set out to raise funds to help finish some new developments at our pitch. We received a fantastic contribution recently in the form of a Sports Capital Grant and this has allowed us to purchase a New Robotic Mower (pictured above) which you may have seen in operation on our pitches the last few months and it has also led to start development on badly needed toilets and dressing rooms facilities at our second pitch (Patsy’s Field). We are running this fundraisier in association with Praxis Care and some local Autism Charities. Praxis Care supports individuals with mental ill health, autism, learning disabilities and dementia, providing innovative, professional, high-quality support services to people across the spectrum of need and particularly at the higher level of complexity. There are several local autism units and centres that we would like to donate to; Kilbride National School are building a new specialised autism unit, and also St. Michael’s National School in Trim which we supported previously.
