The morning of Sunday 13th February 2022 saw the Boardsmill lads travel to Moylagh for the second round of the Tailteann Cup Group C. Having received a bye in the first round this was the ‘Mill’s first match of the New Year and their first match under the new management of Shane Mangan and Stephen Quirke.
Under soggy conditions due to some heavy overnight rain the game got underway with the home side playing with the wind. Boardsmill rallied well and strung some good passages of play together but went into the break 7 points down (1-06 to 0-02). The boys in blue however had a better second half with the wind at their backs and controlled much of the possession. They were unlucky on a couple of occasions hitting the post and had the ball cleared off the line. The match was a closer game than the final scoreline suggested with Moylagh getting their second goal in the dying minutes of the game. All-in-all a good run out for the first game of the year. Final score Moylagh 2-10 Boardsmill 0-08. Well done to Cáil Reilly getting his first run out for Boardsmill.
All-in-all a good run out for the first game of the year.
