At Boardsmill GAA we’re always striving to improve our pitches and facilities for the betterment of our Members. Below is a graphic of the developments and structures we’ve completed over the years and plans for the future. We presented this at our parent’s information evening in 2024.
1911 – First games recorded in Boardsmill area
1944 – Boardsmill GAA Club is affiliated
1974 – 1975 – Main pitch area acquired
1979 – Dressing rooms are constructed
1995 – Ladies Football begins and Camogie is revived
2012 – Patsy’s Field is acquired and the ball wall is constructed
2018 – Illuminated walking track is constructed and dressing rooms are refurbished
2021 – The Gym is opened
2022 – Robotic mower is purchased (The Lean Mean Green Mowing Machine)
2023 – New dressing room and public toilets are constructed at Patsy’s Field.
2024 – New tar macadam road is laid down from the main gate to Patsy’s Field
2025 – Flood lights at main pitch are upgraded and full inter-county senior hurling and football standard lights are erected at Patsy’s Field
2026 – New fence to the perimeter of the main pitch
2026 – 2027 – Astro turf pitch
