Boardsmill GAA Juvenile Committee held a presentation evening on Monday 23rd March in the Castle Arch Hotel. The evening began after some finger food for all the players. Juvenile Chairperson, Damien Harper, greeted the players and families at the event. He thanked them for their time throughout the last year. He also took a moment to express appreciation to the Coaches. He acknowledged the Juvenile Committee for all the effort they put in. He introduced Meath GAA’s Sean Rafferty who we were delighted to have attend. Sean gave a small talk to the lads and presented them with their medals.
The first presentations were made to our U13 Shield Winners from 2024. Eric Cribbin, coach of the U13’s, mentioned that these players were gallant. He worked along with Enda Fitzgerald. They were a group of young players who battled hard in the League in 2024. They won their final game against Ratoath and showed through strength and composure in that last game.
Next up were our U15 Hurlers. Again a great group of players who basically put the team together themselves last year. They attended every training session without fail. They rallied friends to come back to hurling. They also got some new players to join the ranks. All their hard work paid off with the help of some of the U13 crew. Well done lads.
Last but most definitely not least came our U15 footballers. Coach Cathal Healy introduced the players. He spoke about the goals set by these lads back in 2024. They aimed to reach a final which they did but unfortunately were beaten on the day. Last year’s goal was to win a final and they did! Hard work and lung busters were worth it in the end. Congratulations lads!
The evening concluded with a few short words from our Chairman, TJ Reilly. He spoke about how proud he was of all the lads’ work ethic and efforts. He apologised for not being unable to attend their games. He would be free to see their matches when he “retired” (that won’t be for a while yet TJ!!). He discussed all the great development work that has been done. He also talked about what is planned for the Boardsmill GAA facilities. He thanked all coaches and parents for giving up their time and efforts for their children. He asked for continued help with training and games. This will keep all players active, interested, and involved in our GAA Community.
