Boardsmill 3-14 | Skryne 5-8
Boardsmill and Skryne played out an entertaining and high-scoring draw in their Divisional 7 LGFA league clash yesterday evening, with both sides finishing level on 23 points apiece.
Boardsmill showed great determination throughout the game, particularly considering the strong numbers available to Skryne. Despite being under pressure at times, the Boardsmill girls displayed tremendous stamina and resilience to stay in the contest right to the final whistle.
Ellie Boyle was outstanding in goals for Boardsmill, producing several excellent saves to keep her side in the game. At the other end of the field, Luci Mae delivered a brilliant performance at half back, working tirelessly and helping to drive her team forward throughout the match. Justyna Hedba with an outstanding performance at mid field covering a serious amount of ground throughout the game.
On the scoreboard, Annamay was the leading point scorer for Boardsmill with four points. Amy contributed strongly with 1-3, while Holly found the net with a well-taken goal. Laura B added three points, Maeve chipped in with three points, and Abbie finished with 1-1.
It was a fantastic team effort from the Boardsmill side, who showed great heart and character to match Skryne over the course of the game. Their work rate and determination were key factors in securing a well-earned draw. Well done girls.
